[Saba Sports News] Kevin Durant may finally be showing real interest in the team that has pursued him for nearly a decade.
According to Miami-based outlet Five Reasons Sports, Durant and the Miami Heat share mutual interest, fueling speculation that the Phoenix Suns star could be on the move this offseason.
This follows growing belief that the Suns will explore trade options for the former MVP.
Earlier this week, Heat president Pat Riley said the team would be open to trading for an aging star under the right circumstances. While Riley didn’t name Durant directly, many believe the 36-year-old fits the profile, especially with just one year left on his deal at \$54.7 million—a manageable number in trade talks.
The Heat, coming off a first-round sweep, have a solid young core in Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo but lack a third star to replace Jimmy Butler’s impact. Durant could be that missing piece.
Miami has chased Durant before. In 2016, they met with him during free agency before he joined the Warriors. They also made a run at him in 2022 before the Nets dealt him to Phoenix. With several potential Durant suitors now set for the future, the Heat may have their best shot yet to land the 15-time All-Star, who still averages over 26 points per game on elite efficiency.
