[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors will have to make do without Steph Curry for a bit longer.
Curry suffered a hamstring injury during Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves, exiting in the second quarter and not returning.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Shams Charania shared an update on Curry’s rehab, noting that while progress is being made, he’s still not ready for full movement or contact. His next evaluation is scheduled for Wednesday.
The Warriors are reportedly targeting Game 6 as the earliest possible return for their star guard. That means Golden State will need to win at least one of the next three games without him to keep the series alive long enough for his potential comeback. This marks the first hamstring issue of Curry’s 16-year NBA career.
In Curry’s absence, the Warriors were routed 117-93 in Game 2, allowing the Timberwolves to tie the series.
Head coach Steve Kerr has hinted at a “new formula” to adjust without Curry. With two of the next three games at home, Golden State will need that formula — and their crowd — to deliver an upset and stay afloat in the series.
