[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has changed his attitude drastically after securing European qualification for the team. Previously, he openly criticized manager Nuno Espirito Santo after the match. In this round of the Premier League, Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Leicester City at home, dealing a severe blow to their Champions League hopes. However, this draw still ensured they secured European qualification for the first time since 1994. After the final whistle, an angry Marinakis had a heated argument with Nuno, with video footage showing the Greek businessman waving his arms excitedly. However, hours later, Marinakis posted a celebratory statement on Instagram, saying his outburst was due to anger over the medical team’s misjudgment of Awojyi’s injury: “Today is a day worth celebrating! Nottingham Forest returns to the European stage for the first time in 30 years, fulfilling my promise to fans when we were promoted! There are two rounds left in the Premier League, and we must maintain our belief until the very end. We are proud of Nuno and the whole team, and we should celebrate the achievements of this season together. Everyone—coaching staff, players, fans, and myself—are frustrated by the improper handling of Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury, and this frustration reflects our love for the club.”
