[Saba Sports News] The Malaysian badminton team has become the first team to train in the Bukit Jalil Axiata Arena to prepare for the upcoming Malaysia Open (May 20-25). On Sunday morning, free-agent players Aidil Sholeh, mixed doubles pair Wong Tien Chi and Lim Chiew Sien began their training. Following that, the national team, led by Single Coach Director Kenneth Jonassen, completed approximately two hours of training. Due to it being an unofficial training day, the Malaysian team trained in a relaxed atmosphere. Three male singles players, Leong Jun Hao, Hoh Justin, and Ng Tze Yong, joined the doubles team for a 3 vs 3 drill. However, Aaron Chia Teng Fong and Soh Wooi Yik of the men’s doubles, and Tan Pearly and Thinaah Muralitharan of the women’s doubles were unable to join due to participating in the Bangkok Thailand Open final, and they officially moved to the Axiata Arena on Monday. Last year, Malaysian couple Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai won the championship on home ground at the Malaysia Open, realizing their long-held dream. This year, Malaysian players undoubtedly want to capitalize on this momentum and win more championships.
