[Saba Sports News] Giannis Antetokounmpo has already been linked to several teams amid growing uncertainty about his future with the Milwaukee Bucks—and a recent fan interaction has New York Knicks fans buzzing with hope.
During a social media Q&A early Sunday morning, Antetokounmpo was asked which city he enjoys playing in most when the Bucks are on the road. His answer: New York.
Given Madison Square Garden’s iconic status, it’s a response many stars might give. Still, Knicks fans took the comment as a potential hint that Giannis could be open to wearing a Knicks jersey someday.
Antetokounmpo is expected to meet with Bucks leadership soon to discuss the team’s direction.
While there’s no firm indication he wants out, reports suggest he’s “open-minded” about the possibility of playing elsewhere for the first time in his career.
If he does request a trade, the Knicks would likely be one of several teams ready to pounce. That said, Milwaukee holds all the leverage—Antetokounmpo signed a supermax extension in 2023, keeping him under contract through 2026-27, with a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28.
The 29-year-old had another dominant season, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in the regular season and upping those numbers in the playoffs. But Milwaukee’s first-round exit to the Pacers, coupled with Damian Lillard’s torn Achilles, has left the franchise facing tough questions.
While one Bucks teammate recently expressed confidence that Giannis will stay put, Antetokounmpo himself offered a cryptic four-word reply—leaving fans guessing about what’s next.
