[Saba Sports News] Marcus Jordan is making a significant lifestyle change following his recent legal troubles.
The son of NBA legend Michael Jordan shared a personal update on social media this week, revealing via his Instagram Story that he is now 40 days sober. He included the announcement in a gym photo, writing, “40 days sober & counting” in the caption.
Marcus’ decision to pursue sobriety comes in the wake of a February arrest in Maitland, Florida, where he was charged with driving under the influence.
Police said he got his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks and appeared visibly intoxicated, allegedly slurring his speech and telling officers, “I’m Michael Jordan’s son.” He reportedly became combative during the encounter.
Marcus is facing three charges: DUI with property damage, resisting arrest, and possession of ketamine. He has pleaded not guilty but acknowledged in a court filing that he struggles with alcohol and substance abuse and is seeking entry into a treatment program.
The 34-year-old, who played college basketball at the University of Central Florida from 2009 to 2012, is now taking a public step toward recovery and accountability.
