[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Angers player Ibrahima Niane tested positive for doping and was banned for two years by the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD). The report stated that Ibrahima Niane tested positive for MDMA (Ecstasy), a specified medication used for mental treatment, which is considered a “non-severe prohibited substance.” Ibrahima Niane could not prove to the French Anti-Doping Agency that his use of this substance was justifiable, so the agency decided to ban him for two years, starting from March 31st of this year. During this period, he will not be allowed to participate in any competitions in any capacity, nor attend any public training or sports-related public events. Ibrahima Niane and Angers received the notification about the ban at the end of April, after which he missed the final four rounds of the league. This season, Ibrahima Niane made 24 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. His contract with Angers expires this summer, and the club will definitely not renew it; currently, he has returned to Senegal.
