This transaction requires administrative approval from the Spanish Higher Sports Council according to current regulations. In 2018, Ronaldo acquired a 51% stake in Valladolid for slightly more than €30 million. During Ronaldo’s tenure as team owner, the club twice returned to La Liga and was relegated to the Segunda Division three times. In previous matches, Valladolid fans expressed dissatisfaction with Ronaldo, even throwing fake banknotes with his likeness to protest during games.
