[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, during Liverpool’s championship parade, a man intentionally drove his car into the crowd, injuring 79 people. The suspect has now appeared in court. Reports said that Paul Doyle appeared simultaneously at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court and Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, facing seven charges including intentional injury, causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, and dangerous driving. The prosecution stated in court that Paul Doyle used his car as a weapon when he drove into the crowd. Paul Doyle, from West Derby Bergill Road in Liverpool, became emotional during the hearing and only spoke softly to confirm his date of birth and age. There were no family or friends present in either courtroom. The prosecutor’s lawyer said, “The prosecution believes that the defendant intentionally drove the vehicle into the crowd when people were trying to leave the area. Six counts of serious assault correspond to the victims hit by the car, while the first count of dangerous driving relates to his driving behavior prior to using the vehicle as a weapon.” Paul Doyle faces charges related to six victims, including two children aged 11 and 17.
