[Saba Sports News] As he approaches the final Test match of his career, Australian cricket star David Warner faces an unexpected challenge. Warner has turned to social media to appeal for the return of his backpack, which contains his cherished Baggy Green cap, after it mysteriously disappeared. The incident occurred as Australia prepares for their third and concluding Test against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), scheduled to start on January 3.
Warner, in a social media post, explained that his backpack was taken from his luggage during transit to Melbourne airport and then on a Qantas flight to Sydney. Despite Qantas stating they found no evidence of tampering on their surveillance footage, Warner remains hopeful that the backpack, which holds significant sentimental value, will be returned. He assured that he would not pursue legal action if the cap was returned and even offered to give the backpack to the person in exchange.
The lost backpack is reported to contain two of Warner’s caps – the one he has worn for most of his Test matches and a replacement cap given to him. In his video on Instagram, Warner expressed his willingness to forego charges and also to give the backpack in return as a gesture of gratitude.
Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood, upon learning about Warner’s situation, suggested that the Australian government should initiate a nationwide search and employ top detectives to recover Warner’s Test cap.
Warner’s final Test, set to be held at the iconic SCG, will mark his last appearance in the ‘baggy green’ cap on his home ground.
