[Saba Sports News] PJ Tucker took to social media on Wednesday to shut down rumors about his potential retirement.
The 40-year-old forward addressed the speculation via his Instagram Story, making it clear that he has no plans to hang it up just yet.
“Since we are in the era of not doing any fact checking and just repost what we hear from uncredited sources smfh, I have to take time out of my vacation to set the record straight so y’all can stop sending me the dumb s–t!” Tucker wrote. “Never have I mentioned retirement or even given any indication that may be a thing. I’m 40 years young, 100% healthy, able, and will continue playing the game I’ve dedicated my life to… HOOPIN!!!!!!”
Tucker, who joined the New York Knicks late in the 2024-25 season, appeared in just three games but was brought in primarily for his leadership and playoff experience. Though his on-court role was limited, teams still value the veteran for his presence in the locker room.
Tucker has played 13 NBA seasons, starting his career with the Toronto Raptors in 2006-07. His best season came in 2013-14 with the Phoenix Suns, when he averaged 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game and finished 12th in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
He’s hoping to continue his NBA journey in the 2025-26 season — and made it crystal clear that he’s not done yet.
