[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Tottenham Hotspur has taken Ineos Automotive to the High Court over a prematurely terminated commercial partnership agreement. In 2022, prior to Ineos becoming a shareholder in Manchester United and holding 27.7% of the club and controlling football operations, they signed a five-year deal worth several million pounds to make Ineos Grangeir the “official four-wheel-drive vehicle supplier” to Tottenham. During the term of the agreement, Ineos’ branding could be found all over the coaching area and advertising boards at Tottenham’s stadium. However, British media disclosed in March that both parties had decided to terminate the agreement early through “amicable negotiations,” with Ineos paying several million pounds in damages to Tottenham. However, business records show that Tottenham filed a lawsuit on June 12, less than a month after defeating Manchester United in the Europa League final to secure a spot in the Champions League. Ineos, which has been Tottenham’s “official hand sanitizer supplier” since 2020, issued a brief but forceful statement: “Since 2022, Ineos Automotive has been a partner of Tottenham, extending the partnership agreement between the Ineos Group and the club that began in 2020. We have a contract, and we have the right to terminate our agreement and exercised this option in December 2024.”
