[Saba Sports News] The Cleveland Cavaliers recently worked out one of college basketball’s top scorers ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft.
Spencer Davies reported Thursday that the Cavs brought in Villanova standout Eric Dixon for a workout. Dixon, 24, led all of Division I last season with an average of 23.3 points per game during his final year at Villanova (2020–2025).
Cleveland currently holds the 49th and 58th picks in the draft, which is set for June 25–26.
Dixon participated in last month’s NBA Scouting Combine, measuring 6-foot-7.5 and 258.6 pounds. Some scouts have loosely compared him to Julius Randle.
The Cavaliers are coming off a strong 64-18 season that earned them the East’s top seed, though they fell to the Indiana Pacers in five games in the conference semifinals — a loss that looks a bit more forgivable with Indiana now leading the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals.
