[Saba Sports News] Charles Leclerc only managed to complete three laps in the first free practice session of the F1 Canadian Grand Prix before crashing out early. The Ferrari driver admitted it was a very stupid accident. While entering Turn 4 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Leclerc locked up the brakes. Instead of choosing the escape route, he tried to force his way through the corner, made a wrong judgment, and went off track, crashing directly into the wall. Although the collision seemed mild, the impact eventually caused the car’s chassis to break. Ferrari confirmed that the vehicle’s battery was damaged and the chassis could not be replaced on the same day, forcing Leclerc to miss the second free practice session later that day. During the first practice session, Leclerc only completed a few timed laps, and with his practice plan completely disrupted, it is clear that this will have a significant impact on the weekend’s race rhythm. After the race, speaking to reporters, Leclerc showed regret. He expressed his regret for the entire team because such a low-level mistake should not have happened at the beginning of the practice session, admitting that the wrong judgment had brought extremely expensive consequences. However, Leclerc emphasized that the incident did not affect his confidence; he remains unaffected by this crash.
