United, recently shared the good news on social media that his beloved wife is
expecting their second child. They are set to welcome their new addition later
this year. However, upon sharing the news, Antony faced ridicule from some
fans. In the comment section, fans wrote remarks such as, “Antony has
created more expected children this season than expected goals.” This
reflects the disappointment and frustration some fans have toward Antony’s
performance on the field. Antony has been labeled as the “biggest parallel
import” by Manchester United fans due to his underwhelming goal-scoring
record. In the 2023 season, he only managed to score one goal in 33 Premier
League games. In the current season, he has yet to score a goal or provide any
assists in 21 appearances. Comparatively, in his debut season, Antony scored
four goals and provided two assists in 25 Premier League appearances. While
these numbers may be considered acceptable for a young foreign winger in their
debut season, they fall short of the expectations set for a player at a
prestigious club like Manchester United, especially considering the high price
tag associated with his signing.
