[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Clippers are searching for ways to reshape their roster after a third straight first-round playoff exit — and LaVar Ball believes he has the solution. Unsurprisingly, it involves his sons.
In a recently recorded video, the outspoken Ball family patriarch laid out a bold plan for how the Clippers can build a championship contender: trade for both LaMelo and Lonzo Ball.
LaVar claimed that the Ball brothers, along with their sibling LiAngelo, could replicate the up-tempo success the Indiana Pacers have enjoyed this postseason.
“Can’t nobody beat my three boys playing fast,” LaVar said. “Guess what, the Indiana Pacers are in the Finals doing what? Playing their speed game — what I done taught my boys from day one. Can’t nobody beat my boys together.”
LaVar urged Clippers owner Steve Ballmer to make it happen, framing the idea as not only a path to a championship but also a major entertainment draw for the team’s new arena.
“So the Clippers — bring them god dang Ball boys home and let’s go get this championship and quit messing around,” he said. “All you fans who want a championship back in L.A.? Yes! Whole new arena with the Ball boys. Who ain’t gonna come watch that show? … Ballmer, I’m talking to you. Go get them Ball boys and let’s ball!”
Trade rumors have recently swirled around both LaMelo and Lonzo. LaMelo, 23, is coming off a strong season with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 25.2 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Lonzo, 27, hasn’t played since 2022 due to persistent knee issues, though he was linked to several teams ahead of this year’s trade deadline and would likely be the easier of the two to acquire.
While LaVar’s vision of uniting his sons in L.A. is unlikely, he remains convinced it’s a championship formula — and he’s not shy about telling the world.
