[Saba Sports News] According to British media, 26-year-old Brazilian backpacker Juliana Marins died tragically after falling into the active crater of Mount Rinjani in Indonesia while hiking. She slipped from a ridge over 1,000 feet above sea level and was trapped at the bottom of the crater. Despite an emergency rescue, she was found four days later and pronounced dead due to her injuries and the extreme conditions. On Wednesday of this week, Juliana’s body was finally removed from the area. In response, Brazilian former international player Alexandre Pato has offered to cover the costs of returning Juliana’s body to Brazil. It is currently unclear whether her family has accepted the generous offer. Juliana, who graduated in advertising from Rio de Janeiro, worked as a pole dancing instructor and public relations specialist. In a heartbreaking video shared by her friend Federica, Juliana can be seen smiling before the fall at the base of the volcano. The two young women joked about the poor visibility caused by the clouds, with Juliana quipping, “Great, that’s exactly why we came here!”
