[Saba Sports News] Recently, Arsenal announced a long-term contract with 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, with the deal set to run until 2030. According to UK media, the player himself attended the first contract extension meeting and gave a speech. Lewis-Skelly joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of 8, and at 18, he delivered a presentation in the boardroom to head coach Mikel Arteta, academy director Per Mertesacker, interim sporting director Jason Ayto, and operations director James King. This move is rare among players, and even more so for an 18-year-old. He spoke about his experience in Arsenal’s academy, the core values instilled there, and his personal beliefs and worldview. He discussed how to visualize faith and gave examples of athletes who inspired him, such as Kobe’s “Mamba Mentality.” He also expressed his desire to continue wearing the number 49 jersey, which holds special meaning for him, the club, and the fans. Additionally, he introduced the team supporting his career and expressed his hope for a long-term partnership with Arsenal.
