[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Mason Greenwood has returned to Manchester during the break and trained with fellow academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and James Garner to maintain his fitness. The 23-year-old Greenwood has just finished an impressive debut season with Marseille, scoring 21 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games and helping the club qualify for the Champions League. Last summer, the striker moved permanently to Marseille for a base transfer fee of £27 million plus £3.2 million in add-ons, ending his 17-year association with Manchester United. Previously, Greenwood was accused of attempted rape, assault, and control coercion in October 2022, but all charges were dropped in February 2023 due to the withdrawal of key witnesses. The player has always denied any wrongdoing. After an internal investigation, Manchester United decided not to allow him back into the first team and loaned him to Getafe for the 2023-24 season before a permanent move to Marseille. This Tuesday, Greenwood trained with fellow academy graduate James Garner and Kobbie Mainoo. They were academy teammates, and the two once played together five times for the first team. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Mainoo signed his first professional contract in May 2022. Photos show the three of them training in sports gear at a municipal training ground in Manchester.
