[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the A-52 highway where Diogo Jota was involved in a car accident is frequently visited by wild animals, which may have been a contributing factor to the tragic accident. Journalists traveling along the route of the accident found two adult deer on a side road, less than half a mile from the location of Jota’s crash. The speed limit on this section of the road is 120 km/h. Spanish investigators believe that a flat tire may have caused the vehicle to veer off the road. However, the sudden appearance of a deer could also have caused the driver to swerve. There are many similar warning signs along the road. Spanish police said they are not currently actively considering whether wildlife was responsible for the accident, but they have not ruled out this possibility either. It has been reported that other animal-related hazards in the area include the Iberian wolf roaming on the road and flocks of crows. The A-52 had already been known as a dangerous stretch of road before Jota’s tragedy, partly due to its rugged terrain and high number of wild animals. Local sources mentioned that the presence of animals on the road increases its danger, and this road is one of the main causes of numerous accidents in the Castile and Leon region.
