[Saba Sports News] As Cadillac prepares to join F1 in the 2026 season, driver selection has become a hot topic. Mick Schumacher, the son of the legendary driver Michael Schumacher, is emerging as a potential candidate for the Cadillac team. Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon clearly stated in an interview that he “really likes Mick Schumacher.” However, he faces strong competition. Reports suggest that experienced drivers like Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas are also under consideration, along with Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu and Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich. According to Lowdon, the current driver list is long, and the team will prioritize ensuring they have a competitive car, as without a good car, even the best drivers can’t make a difference. Additionally, the team has not ruled out the possibility of signing an American driver. Mario Andretti, a member of the board, has publicly expressed hope that more American drivers could enter F1 to align with the three races F1 will hold in the U.S.
