[Saba Sports News] Recently, Malaysian badminton legend Goh Liu Ying shared photos with her two children on social media and shared her experience of raising kids, saying, “I thought it was just about taking care of them, but I didn’t expect it would also help me cultivate my character.” From the photo, you can see Goh Liu Ying holding her newborn daughter, looking at her older son who is growing up, with a happy smile on her face. The touching scene has made fans leave comments and likes. Now 36, Goh Liu Ying used to be a member of Malaysia’s national women’s doubles team, primarily focusing on mixed doubles. As a teenager, she partnered with Chan Peng Soon, and later became a leader in Malaysia’s mixed doubles, winning a Super Series title at the 2012 Japan Open. Her career peak came at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she and Chan Peng Soon advanced all the way to the semifinals, defeating the Chinese pair Xu Chen/Ma Jin in the semifinals and earning a valuable silver medal, which tied Malaysia’s best result in Olympic history. As they aged, the pair gradually lost competitiveness and eventually separated at the end of 2021.
