[Saba Sports News] Recently, 73-year-old legendary coach Louis van Gaal shared his health status on a talk show. In 2022, Van Gaal announced he had prostate cancer, but now he says he is in good condition and no longer affected by the illness. Van Gaal said in the show: “Two years ago, I had several operations, and it was really terrible. I had difficulty passing stool and had to use diapers. But eventually, everything improved, and I am now able to cope. I check every few months, but the situation is good. My body is becoming healthier.” Van Gaal also spoke about the psychological impact of the disease, especially in public. “I didn’t feel very severe pain. But I’m a very clean person, and every time I had incontinence, it was very painful. I often attended public events, so I would wear dark pants to avoid looking too bad. It was really uncomfortable.” Van Gaal vividly described a specific moment during his cancer treatment: “When I was presented with the Eredivisie league trophy, I urinated in my pants. But thank goodness, that’s all in the past.”
