[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United’s top summer transfer target, Bryan Mbeumo, returned to Brentford on Monday to participate in pre-season training. After signing Matheus Cunha, the Red Devils view Mbeumo as a key reinforcement for manager Ruben Amorim’s system, having previously paid a £62.5 million release clause for the Brazilian.
Since last month, Manchester United’s pursuit of Mbeumo has not made any breakthroughs. Brentford rejected United’s initial bid of £55 million and a subsequent improved offer of over £60 million. While there is speculation about a third bid, Manchester United has not yet responded officially. It is reported that both Mbeumo and Amorim are frustrated with the slow progress of the transfer, as the latter hopes to finalize the deal before the pre-season in the U.S.
Currently, Mbeumo is still preparing for the 2025-26 season as a Brentford player in London. After most of his teammates returned last Friday, the club’s top scorer from last season appeared at the training center on Monday. Subsequently, Brentford’s official social media also shared a video of Mbeumo interacting with the media team.
