[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Thomas Frank, after taking charge of Tottenham, is working to implement the tactical philosophies he valued during his time at Brentford, particularly emphasizing the importance of set pieces. Recently, a video posted by Spurs defender Destiny Udogie on social media inadvertently revealed the team’s training schedule, drawing public attention.
In the video, an electronic screen displaying the training agenda was visible, with “long throw audition” prominently listed as the fifth item, which sharp-eyed fans quickly noticed. This suggests that Tottenham may focus on incorporating “long throw-ins” as a key part of their tactics for the upcoming season.
Reports indicate that Frank has always had a detailed strategy for set pieces. During his tenure at Brentford, he helped the team score 14 goals from set pieces in the 2023-24 Premier League season, ranking just behind Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest (17 goals each), Aston Villa (16), and Brighton and Everton (15 each). Under his management, Tottenham could see a refreshed tactical style. Enhanced training on set pieces and long throw-ins might become the key to their success in the new season as they compete on multiple fronts.
