[Saba Sports News] On Tuesday local time, the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that it has received an appeal from Crystal Palace Football Club against UEFA, Nottingham Forest, and Lyon, seeking reinstatement for the new Europa League season. In a media statement released by CAS, it confirmed Crystal Palace’s appeal against UEFA, Nottingham Forest, and Lyon, related to UEFA’s decision to revoke Crystal Palace’s qualification for the 25/26 Europa League due to alleged violations of the multi-club ownership rules. The appeal was submitted on July 21, 2025, aiming to overturn UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body’s decision dated July 11, 2025, which determined that Crystal Palace and Lyon did not meet the requirements for multi-club ownership and therefore demoted Crystal Palace to the 25/26 Europa Conference League. In addition to overturning this decision, Crystal Palace has also requested reinstatement into the 25/26 Europa League and the withdrawal of Nottingham Forest’s qualification. As an alternative, Crystal Palace has requested reinstatement into the 25/26 Europa League and the withdrawal of Lyon’s qualification. According to the CAS appeal procedure, relevant parties are currently exchanging written statements in accordance with arbitration rules. After this process is completed, a hearing will be arranged. Unless all parties agree, CAS hearings are not open to the public.
