[Saba Sports News] During the main race of the Hungarian Grand Prix, a famous internet meme – “Fake Smile Grandpa” – appeared in real life. The famous “Meme Grandpa” is Andras Istvan Arato, a former electrical engineer from Hungary. He became famous online because of a photo taken for an advertisement shoot titled “Hide the Pain Harold” (Fake Smile Harold), which was widely shared and remixed by netizens. Originally, Grandpa posted travel photos from Turkey online to show them to family and friends. But unexpectedly, these pictures also caught the attention of professional photographers. They asked if he wanted to become a model, saying his appearance was suitable for certain roles. Grandpa readily accepted the casting invitation and took hundreds of photos in subsequent shoots. At the time, neither Grandpa nor the photographer felt anything unusual. However, when netizens saw the photos, they believed Grandpa perfectly portrayed the pain he was feeling but had to fake a smile, thus giving birth to a new internet meme – “Fake Smile Grandpa.”
