[Saba Sports News] McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has stated that he does not believe his relationship with Lando Norris will deteriorate even if they compete against each other for the F1 World Championship. Currently, Piastri holds a narrow 9-point lead over Norris in the drivers’ championship standings. Given McLaren’s position as the strongest team in the current competitive landscape, the two drivers are seen as main contenders for this year’s title—so far, out of 14 Grands Prix held this season, McLaren has won 11 victories. The only incident between them this year occurred at the Canadian Grand Prix, but Norris immediately admitted responsibility, and the matter was quickly resolved. As the competition intensity is likely to increase after the season restart, Piastri is not concerned about the potential impact this situation might have on their personal relationship. Piastri said: “Obviously, once we’re on track, the business begins. We both desperately want to win and score as many points as possible. There are definitely two sides to it, but even if there is tension wanting to beat each other, that emotion certainly doesn’t continue off the track. I think that’s really good. It’s actually quite interesting how the relationship changes and develops. We’ve always gotten along very well, so I don’t think that will change.”
