[Saba Sports News] Bad light stopped the play in the latter half of session three on Day 2 of the Centurion Test, eventually leading to stumps.
Dean Elgar remained unbeaten, taking South Africa to an 11-run lead in the first innings on the back of a scintillating hundred.
Both David Bedingham and Elgar continued on their merry way, acting as the two thorns in India’s flesh. Bedingham scored 56 runs in his debut Test before Mohammed Siraj knocked him over.
South Africa wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne departed soon after gloving the ball to KL Rahul. He was given not-out by the on-field umpire but Rohit Sharma took a successful review as Prasidh Krishna celebrated his maiden Test wicket.
The quick fall of wickets did not deter Elgar one bit. He continued to march on, sitting undefeated on 140 runs at the close of play. On the other end is Marco Jansen, who is batting on four runs.
At the time of writing, the Proteas are at 256/5 in 66 overs, leading by 11 runs.
