[Saba Sports News] Former England international and ex-Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur player Peter Crouch made a surprise appearance as a “ball boy” last Saturday at a Southern League Premier South match, becoming a one-day special guest for non-league team Farnham Town. The 44-year-old Crouch finished last in the fantasy football league of his podcast, “That Peter Crouch Podcast,” and was “punished” by his co-hosts, requiring him to experience a full ball boy shift. During the match, Crouch wore the full Farnham Town kit and entered the field with the players. He not only participated in the pre-match player meet-and-greet but also made an appearance at halftime and enjoyed a “kids’ meal” dinner with the other ball boys – a bottle of Coke Zero, a pack of Haribo gummies, and some cookies. Fans and players were both surprised and excited to see the 2.01-meter-tall former Premier League striker, who scored 106 goals in the league, among the ball boys. Crouch did not disappoint, signing autographs, taking photos, and even recreating his classic “robot dance.” This fun incident quickly sparked heated discussions on social media. Fans commented, “This is brilliant,” “Top bloke,” and “Love this idea.” The match also set an attendance record, with over 2,500 fans coming specifically to see him and get his autograph.
