[Saba Sports News] According to motorsport.com, the FIA stewards for the Dutch Grand Prix will reconvene for an online hearing on September 12th to consider Williams’ petition for a “Right of Review” regarding the penalty given to Carlos Sainz at Zandvoort. During the Dutch GP, Sainz collided with Visa Cash App RB driver Liam Lawson at Turn 1 and was deemed predominantly responsible, resulting in a 10-second time penalty. Sainz was furious about this, insisting he was not to blame for the incident. Post-race, Williams formally submitted a request for review to the FIA, stating: “This is very important for our future understanding of how to compete fairly on track, and we also hope for a positive outcome.” The stewards have now set the hearing date for September 12th, where representatives from Williams and Visa Cash App RB will attend the online meeting. The hearing will be in two parts: first, the stewards will determine if Williams’ review request meets the criteria for admission; if it passes, the second part will involve a re-examination of the collision incident itself. The FIA summons stated: “The relevant team representatives are required to report to the stewards on September 12, 2025, at 15:30 (CEST). The meeting will be held via video conference, details of which will be advised separately. This hearing will be in two parts. The first part will hear evidence and submissions from the applicant in order to determine whether there is a ‘significant and relevant new element [which was] unavailable to the parties seeking the review at the time of the decision concerned’. Should the stewards determine that such exists, they will then proceed to hear the second part of the hearing in order to re-examine the merits of the decision. Other concerned parties may request permission to be heard.”
