[Saba Sports News] Recently, Red Bull Racing Team Principal Laurent Mekies hinted that former Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo might appear in the F1 paddock next year in a brand new capacity. Ricciardo drove his last F1 race (for the time being) for Visa Cash App RB (AlphaTauri) at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. Earlier this month, the Australian driver confirmed his retirement from F1 and partnered with Ford Performance to become an ambassador for the organization. Red Bull is preparing for next year when it will introduce its own powertrain developed in partnership with Ford. Given Ricciardo’s new significant role at Ford, Mekies suggested we might occasionally see him in the paddock with his old team, Red Bull Racing, next year. Mekies told Sky Sports News: “It’s beautiful in a way to see Daniel coming back with Ford Performance, it feels like a family reunion. I think it shows the tight links between our two companies, our two programs. So it’s very exciting. I’m sure everyone hopes to see Daniel back in the paddock, and thanks to Ford Performance, maybe we will actually see him from time to time next year.”
