[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona City Council will assist in resolving stadium issues arising from a scheduling conflict between a Barcelona match day and a local fireworks festival. The council stated it will do everything possible to ensure the La Liga match between Barcelona and Real Sociedad can be played at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium on Sunday, September 28th, at 6:30 PM. This decision stands even though the match coincides with the city’s significant event, the Sant Merce Music Fireworks Festival. Barcelona is currently considering three potential venues: the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Camp Nou, or the Montjuic Olympic Stadium. The city council recognizes the stadium problems Barcelona has faced since the season began and has decided to intervene. Sources indicate that if the club ultimately needs to play at Montjuic Olympic Stadium at the time stipulated by La Liga, the council will enhance traffic management measures and deploy special police forces to coordinate with the festival’s regular security, aiming to prevent congestion on roads leading to Montjuic mountain. Barcelona has already confirmed they will host Paris Saint-Germain at Montjuic Olympic Stadium on October 1st for their first European home match of the season. Therefore, it is expected that this stadium will also host the September 28th match against Real Sociedad.
