Months after Yamal’s birthday, a Spanish DJ named David Bocadit Mirabet’s social media confession brought the party back into the spotlight. The DJ began his video by saying, “I missed the opportunity to DJ at Lamine Yamal’s birthday party. This was the biggest mistake of my DJ career.” This all stemmed from an email he received, which he showed to his audience. The email read: “We are writing to you on behalf of the production department of the communications agency *****, contacting you because we have an event in Barcelona on July 12 to celebrate Lamine Yamal’s birthday. The event will be a one-day celebration, featuring an artwork created for his 18th birthday, along with various activities in his community. We are very keen to have a DJ to liven up the event, which is why we need you to send us a budget as soon as possible.” According to David Bocadit, this email was filtered into his spam or promotions folder, causing him to see it only a month later. By the time he saw it, he had to decline the job offer because he already had other performance commitments that he could not cancel.
