Chen Yufei talked about her return to the court after recovering from injury: “An Se-young sent me a message asking how I lost in Paris. I told her I was mentally exhausted, but An Se-young said she was happy to see me back on the court. However, I feel like it’s because An Se-young has already defeated everyone and wants me back so she can beat me again, haha. But beyond winning and losing, isn’t it fun to play against the world’s best players? Now, after every match with An Se-young, we interact, show concern, and greet each other. I truly cherish An Se-young as a rival. We’ve faced each other many times over the years. The first time was probably in 2018 when she wasn’t even an adult yet. Everyone called her a talented player, and I won quite easily that time. I never thought it would get progressively harder and she would become so strong. An Se-young has already won the Olympic gold and the World Championships. She told me she still wants to improve, create more records, and win more Olympic and World Championship titles. This kind of ambition is something I really admire about her.”
