[Saba Sports News] According to the BWF World Rankings released this week, Shi Yuqi’s world ranking points have risen to 112,047, setting a new personal career record. This is also the highest men’s singles points total since March 21, 2023. In last week’s 2025 Denmark Open Badminton Championships men’s singles final, Shi Yuqi, after winning the first game, was reversed by Indonesian star Jonatan Christie, failing to achieve the two major glories of “four consecutive titles + 21 consecutive wins” on the international stage. However, with the strong performance of earning runner-up at this tournament, Shi Yuqi gained 9,350 high points. His world ranking points increased from 109,117 last week to 112,047 this week, breaking through the 110,000 mark again after 5 weeks. It is worth mentioning that this is the highest points total Shi Yuqi has obtained so far in his career. His previous personal best (PB) was 110,397 points, set on September 2 this year. Previously, Shi Yuqi decided to withdraw from the French Open just before it began. The reason given for withdrawal was an injury sustained during the Denmark Open, requiring rest and recovery. This move means that his international competition commitments for this season now only include the BWF World Tour Finals in December. Of course, Shi Yuqi’s withdrawal from the French Open wasn’t solely due to injury; he also needs to prepare for the National Games badminton competition starting on November 7. In the previous two National Games, Shi Yuqi reached the men’s singles final, winning silver and gold medals respectively. In his third National Games, he aims to create new glory.
