[Saba Sports News] La Liga President Javier Tebas recently updated his social media, expressing his views on the cancellation of overseas La Liga matches and stating that he doesn’t understand why there is external opposition to them. Tebas posted on social media, saying it’s curious to see people so keen on preventing an overseas match. He pointed out that the true way to protect football traditions is to defend domestic competitive balance, not to fear global expansion. He believes La Liga hopes to expand its influence through overseas matches, attract more fans, thereby increasing revenue and enhancing the league’s overall value. However, for other La Liga clubs, they prioritize league tradition and match integrity, unwilling to easily change match venues. Meanwhile, the Spanish players’ union primarily focuses on player rights, arguing that such events overlook players’ physical burdens and labor rights. Traveling to the United States for matches far exceeds the stipulated maximum limits for pre-match training camp and travel time for away games.
