[Saba Sports News] According to the latest reports from Spanish media, Barcelona was originally scheduled to play a friendly match in Peru in December, which would have earned the club millions of euros. Surprisingly, however, this match may not take place. Reports indicate that, under the collective labor agreement between the Spanish Players’ Union and the clubs, players are entitled to a mandatory “Christmas holiday” break from December 23 to January 3. During this period, players must have at least five consecutive days of rest. To proceed with the Peru friendly, the best solution would be to reschedule the league match against Villarreal to December 19. However, this requires approval from La Liga and Villarreal. Previously, La Liga’s plan to host Villarreal vs. Barcelona in Miami was cancelled due to opposition, adding uncertainty to this rescheduling attempt. We believe that finding a balance among the interests of all parties is key to resolving such issues.
