[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, FIFA is selling parking spaces near the stadiums for the 2026 World Cup. The price for each space per match day ranges from $75 to $175, which is even higher than the price of some match tickets in previous World Cups. Over the past month, as World Cup ticket sales began at record-breaking prices, FIFA also launched an “official parking website” for ticket holders, which is another platform commercializing the 2026 World Cup. Parking and transportation have long been huge challenges for the 16 North American host cities: among the 11 major US metropolitan areas set to host matches, many lack the public transport infrastructure commonly used by fans in Europe and elsewhere, as Americans are accustomed to driving to games. All 11 US World Cup venues are NFL stadiums, surrounded by parking lots of varying sizes. However, during the World Cup, portions of these lots will be inside security perimeters, sealed off, or used for other purposes like hospitality, making parking relatively scarce. Getting to the stadium could become a logistical nightmare for fans, similar to what fans experienced during the Club World Cup this summer.
