[Saba Sports News] According to British media, Leicester City is set to face a new round of legal disputes with the Premier League, with a hearing scheduled for next week. The Championship club will defend itself against three new charges and could potentially face a points deduction. Reports indicate that Leicester City breached Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) during the 2023-24 season while still in the Championship. The Premier League confirmed these charges in May this year and also accused Leicester City of failing to submit their annual accounts by December 31. Additionally, the club faces another charge for not fulfilling its obligation to “provide full, complete, and timely assistance to the Premier League.” If an independent disciplinary committee confirms these charges, Leicester City could face a range of potential sanctions, including points deductions, fines, or transfer bans. The legal dispute between Leicester City and the Premier League has been ongoing for over 18 months. In September last year, Leicester City appealed and won against the initial alleged PSR violations, as a panel ruled that the Premier League did not have jurisdiction to punish a club already relegated to the Championship. It remains unclear when Leicester City will learn the outcome of this hearing, but many sources suggest a final ruling may not come until the end of this year at the earliest.
