[Saba Sports News] Before the Abu Dhabi showdown, Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, described Max Verstappen as “the villain in a horror movie who seems to be dead but reappears.” In response to this comparison, Verstappen not only took no offense but even enjoyed playing along with the role, finding it quite funny. He stated that the only thing he could control was his performance on the track and that he would focus solely on his own efforts, without overthinking anything else. At the same time, Verstappen emphasized that his ability to keep moving forward despite the disadvantages was due to the perfect collaboration between himself, the team, and the engineers. From my perspective, Brown’s comments stem from Verstappen’s incredible comeback this season. After the summer break, he once trailed the leader by 104 points, nearly exiting the championship contention. However, thanks to Red Bull’s comprehensive counterattack in the second half of the season and McLaren’s consecutive mistakes, Verstappen is now only 12 points behind Lando Norris, the current leader, still holding a chance for a five-time consecutive championship before the final race.
