[Saba Sports News] Just last week at the Qatar Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli went off the track due to a mistake and was overtaken by McLaren driver Lando Norris behind him. After the race, Antonelli was publicly questioned by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, who suggested that he was ‘deliberately letting someone pass.’ Following this, Antonelli faced a barrage of insults on social media, including death threats.Recently, Antonelli’s father publicly spoke out on social media in support of his son, asserting that Antonelli was the victim of baseless attacks and demanding an apology from Marko. Subsequently, after reviewing the race footage, Marko publicly apologized, acknowledging that Antonelli’s mistake was simply a driving error. Red Bull Racing also issued a statement apologizing for the earlier comments.I believe Marko’s initial remarks were a direct catalyst for the online abuse. Although he later apologized after reviewing the footage and the team clarified the facts, the irresponsible accusations had already caused significant harm, and such incidents should not happen again.
