[Saba Sports News] Lewis Hamilton was absent from the first free practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and his place was taken by the team’s development driver, Arthur Leclerc. This means Arthur will again be on the track alongside his brother, Ferrari’s main driver Charles Leclerc. Reports indicate that this is not the first time the two brothers have appeared together on an F1 circuit. Last year, Arthur participated in his first official F1 weekend practice session, where he completed 23 laps in a Ferrari, finishing 1.858 seconds behind his brother in 18th place. Charles praised his brother’s performance at the time, stating that they could understand each other’s feelings without needing to say much, and he felt very confident about Arthur’s future development.
However, Arthur will not participate in the official testing session after the season ends. In this year’s end-of-season tests, each team can field two cars, one of which must be used to test the new tires under the 2026 regulations. Ferrari will split the testing duties between Leclerc and Hamilton, while current junior driver Dino Beganovic will drive this year’s SF-25 car for the young driver test.
