[Saba Sports News] Starting from the 2026 season, the Haas F1 Team will be renamed TGR Haas F1 Team. According to reports, TGR stands for Toyota Gazoo Racing, which is Toyota’s motorsport and racing division. As early as last October, Haas established a technical partnership with Toyota. TGR will provide support for the team’s research and development and assist Haas in launching the Old Car Test Project (TPC) for the first time. This project will eventually be named the TGR Haas Driver Development Program.
Additionally, Toyota has helped the Haas team install a brand-new simulator at their research and development center in Banbury, UK. Although Haas F1 Team CEO Gene Haas has continuously denied any possibility of a Toyota takeover, it seems that it might just be a matter of time. Currently, Toyota’s presence is nearly overwhelming within the Haas team; it may not be unlikely that once Gene Haas steps down, Toyota could smoothly take over. In my view, this marks Toyota’s official return to the F1 stage after exiting in 2009, signaling the brand’s renewed commitment to top-tier motorsport.
