[Saba Sports News] According to the well-known football equipment website Footy Headlines, as the 2026 World Cup approaches, Nike still has no plans to release a signature boot for Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite fans generally anticipating that Nike would launch a new version of the exclusive CR7 “Mercurial” boots for Ronaldo’s final World Cup performance, current information suggests that this possibility is zero. Up to now, there has been no design, no leaked information, and no release plans.
This decision appears to be the result of well-documented tensions between Ronaldo and Nike over the past few years. The last time Nike released a signature boot for Ronaldo was three years ago, during the 2022 World Cup. Since then, no new CR7 series boots have been launched. On the pitch, the changes are also evident; Ronaldo is no longer the star of the “Mercurial” series. He has often worn the same pair of boots for three to four months, which is unimaginable during the peak of his commercial value.
It is also hard to recall the last time Ronaldo held a prominent position in a major Nike advertisement. While there is a faint possibility that Nike may change plans at the last minute, all current signs indicate that Ronaldo will wear a standard version of boots in his last World Cup.
