[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Jonathan Evans has resigned from his role as Manchester United’s loan manager this week to spend more time with his family. However, Manchester United has yet to confirm Evans’s successor. The 37-year-old Northern Irishman took on the position last summer after hanging up his boots, but his tenure lasted less than six months.Evans’s predecessor was the highly regarded Les Parry, who left the club after 12 years to join Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr in October of last year. Just a year ago this week, sporting director Dan Ashworth was dismissed after just 159 days in office, during which time he appointed Michael Appleton to the role. Ashworth’s abrupt departure dashed Appleton’s hopes of returning to Manchester United, and the 50-year-old is now the head coach at Shrewsbury Town. It will be interesting to see who Manchester United ultimately chooses to replace Evans.As for Evans himself, he may collaborate with football agent Colin Murdock in the future.
