[Saba Sports News] According to multiple sources, Max Verstappen’s racing team, Verstappen Racing, has reached a multi-year partnership agreement with Mercedes, which will see them use Mercedes cars in the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe. This means the team will end its partnership with Aston Martin and officially join the Mercedes camp. This decision is believed to be closely related to Verstappen’s previous experience testing the AMG GT3 at Estoril.
Before the 2025 season, Verstappen announced plans to expand the team’s size, marking its debut in both the sprint and endurance categories of the GT World Challenge Europe. In the endurance cup, Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham, and Harry King raced Aston Martin cars; in the sprint races, Vermeulen and Lulham drove Ferraris. According to the latest plans, Verstappen Racing will continue to compete in both sprint and endurance races under the new Mercedes cooperation framework, fielding a Mercedes AMG GT3 car. Stefan Wendl, head of Mercedes’ customer racing department, welcomed this development, describing it as an ambitious project with great prospects.
