[Saba Sports News] According to Saudi media reports, José Semedo, the CEO of Al-Nassr and a close friend of Cristiano Ronaldo, has been suspended by the club. An email sent this week from the Al-Nassr board to department managers indicated: “Freeze the powers of Portuguese CEO Semedo and revoke the financial approval authority of all related personnel. No financial expenditure requests may be accepted without the authorization of the board or the approval of the executive committee.”
José Semedo, 40, was appointed as the fourth CEO of Al-Nassr in July of last year. He came through the youth academy at Sporting CP, where he met Ronaldo and formed a close friendship. Semedo retired in 2023 and began working at Al-Nassr the same year. It is reported that Ronaldo has provided significant support to Semedo at various stages of his career, and Semedo has always been grateful for this close friendship.
Notably, there have been public speculations about Ronaldo’s sexual orientation due to his close friendship with Semedo, which some have suggested goes beyond mere friendship. Ronaldo once posted a shirtless photo with Semedo on social media, captioning it: “Perfect combination, white chocolate and dark chocolate.”
