[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Brazilian veteran Dani Alves has acquired shares in the Portuguese second division club, São João de Ver, and has registered as a player. São João de Ver currently competes in the Portuguese second division (third-tier league). Alves purchased 50% of the club’s shares at the end of last year and has now bought the remaining shares, becoming the owner of the club.
It is reported that Alves is currently in the process of registering as a player and will complete the registration in the coming days to play for São João de Ver. The 42-year-old Alves is set to sign a short-term contract with the team until June this year, and he may extend it for another year. Following this, Alves plans to start his coaching career, having recently obtained his UEFA A coaching license.
In January 2023, Alves was accused of sexual assault and subsequently distanced himself from football. In March 2024, after paying bail, he was released from prison, and the Catalonia High Court acquitted him due to insufficient evidence. Now, Alves is looking forward to making a return to football as a player.
