[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, beIN Sports commentator Daniel Bravo’s suspension period and return date have been confirmed; he will resume commentary on football matches at the end of this month. The former French international’s punishment will last for two weekends, and Bravo is expected to return to the broadcaster’s studio on Saturday, February 28, to commentate on the match between Rennes and Toulouse.
Previously, Bravo made a sexist joke about Etan Tine, the sporting director of Paris FC’s women’s department, during a broadcast when the camera focused on the former French women’s footballer while Paris FC was playing against Marseille. He imagined she was “talking about lingerie.” The next day, beIN Sports publicly apologized and announced an immediate suspension for Bravo.
In a subsequent media interview, Bravo apologized, stating, “I meant to joke with her, but it was indeed a terrible joke, and I completely messed it up.” Etan Tine also responded to the controversy, telling AFP, “I have been competing at the highest level for 25 years and have one of the longest careers, but I have made the headlines less often than an inappropriate joke made while sitting in the stands.”
